A “Pawsitively” Fabulous Book Tour!

I’m honored to be a part of the Dogs Work Too! From Max’s Point of View book tour with Maximus (the English Labrador) and his pals, the working dogs!  Anthony Majewski is an award winning children’s book author and dedicated to sharing real life stories through the eyes of his lovable dog Maximus (a.k.a. Max).

Dogs Work Too! From Max’s Point of View is a about a day that Max visits Leader Dogs For The Blind. The adventure first outlines how Leader Dogs For The Blind was founded in 1939 and has placed over 14,000 dogs in 39 countries. Amazing! These wonderful dogs help people who are visually impaired or blind.

With his buddy Co-Co by his side, the two explore the importance of training leader dogs and how the dedicated volunteers work so hard to provide well-trained leader dogs to people in need.

Dogs Work Too! From Max’s Point of View is a fun book to read with your children and includes bright, cute pictures on every page. It’s a great learning to tool that will help young children understand how and why dogs work to help people as well as make great pets.

You will read about police dogs and firehouse dogs as well as the dogs that help the blind. To my surprise, the first leader dogs were Dobermans, but you’ll have to get the book to find out why they are no longer trained as leader dogs. The reason will surprise you!

A portion of the proceeds from books sales will go to Leader Dogs For The Blind which is a non-profit organization. A wonderful cause and book to teach us the importance of dogs that work too!

Visit READ WITH MAX to learn more! You’ll find books, coloring books and fun tattoos by Max.

Have a “paw-fabulous” day!

  1. I am a follower on Google Friend Connect.
I would love to win this book so I can read it, then pass it along to my mom. She and two of her Golden Retrievers are a therapy team at our local hospital. This book would be great for her bag for when she is visiting in the children’s hospital!

I have just read the comments from Karen and first want to say how great it is of your mom and her 2 dogs visiting children in hospitals. Tell her to keep putting smiles on childrens faces.

Thats what great about dogs, we have so many jobs. Yes, police and fire dogs, but did you know there are library dogs too. They help children who don’t like reading outload to read. I know my friend who are library dogs love it especially hearing all the great stories. In fact my book was just read to one of them the other day. How great was that!

Reading is fun and I encourage parents, caregivers, and anyone who has time to read to a child. Not only is it rewarding to them but it also self fulling to you.

    Did You Know:
It is estimated that more than $2 billion is spent each year on students who repeat a grade because they have reading problems. -U.S. Department of Health and Human Services

I think it is such a great idea to have children’s books that are entertaining and informational. The video you shared the link for Leader Dogs For the Blind is so sweet! I gave it a thumbs up!

Barb! Thanks for the comments about the video. When I was first working with Leader Dogs for the Blind, I wanted to create this video as a tribute to those the staff, those that train, and those volunteers who help raise these special animals. As you read this post, many often forget how fortunate they have it and are able to see. The pictures of the Future Leader Dogs say it all. They are there to love as well work for those visually impaired or Blind. They have an important role and job to do and we ofter forget that these animals are more then a pet, but actually an vital part of someones life. And it take hours to train one not to mention the cost as well. I agree, the dogs in the video are cute too. My favorite friend is the puppy sleeping at the end. Check it out.

    Max

That is so great! I had a great time seeing the fire dogs from my book. They have such an important role to watch up firemen, protect the equipment, and attend parades. I wish more First Stations had dogs to visit. Great Post Julia
